For any of our patients who have family members helping assist them with their medical needs, we provide a full written report to the family afterwards outlining the services that were provided, any findings from the appointment and our recommendations for future continuing care treatments.

Preferred Dental Hygiene was started in 2007 when new legislation allowed Dental Hygienists to work independently on their own.  It was started with one primary focus in mind – to increase access to oral care and provide mobile dental hygiene services to those who for whatever reason were unable to get to a dental office for their dental hygiene care.

Our mobile dental equipment allows us to provide dental hygiene services in the comfort of a patient's own home.  We adhere to the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario's guidelines ensuring that current scientifically accepted infection control procedures are strictly followed.

Our treatment philosophy is geared toward improving and maintaining our patient's oral health, in order to prevent future dental and health problems. Our primary focus is in treating seniors, and those in retirement residences and long term care facilities. We also work with patients who are house bound for any reason such as patients suffering from Strokes, Parkinson's Disease, ALS and Autism etc. We offer treatment plans that are individually tailored to each patient's needs. When required, referrals are made to the appropriate dental colleagues to assess areas for decay and any other problems identified.

We understand the importance of providing these services to our patients in a comfortable, safe and stress-free manner. It is our goal to make every dental experience a pleasant one for our patients.
